Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Usually a client reaches out to us and we schedule a Measurement Consultation, in which we discuss your project. Clients ask as many questions as they'd like regarding the subfloor adjustments, shoe molding, and even what furniture or appliances they'd like me to move and reinstall for them.
After that, we send an estimate. If the client wants to move forward with my services, we set an installation date.
We keep the client informed if we need to acclimate the hardwood in their home ahead of time, and then even give a reminder call a few days prior to the start of the installation.
After the installation is done, the client pays the invoice, and that's all! The process is very starightforward and we pride ourselves on our timely communication with our clients.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have worked with all types of clients! We've installed floors in some well-known businesses all over the area. We also work with some really nice homes along Lake Michigan. We do installations for basements, kitchens, bathrooms, any room, you name it!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
With every project we do, we hold our crew to very high standards. We take the time and effort to place the planks in the correct way to ensure that there is variation in your floor and so that it showcases the product in the best way! This is just one of the many aspects of our work that we take pride on.
I always say look for someone that has spent a lot of time learning and mastering their art. It's one thing to hire someone who does it all, but it's another thing to hire someone who really specializes in one trade. My best advice is to look for someone who loves what they do, and we do just that!
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Making the decision to start a flooring project is an investment of your time and money. It can seem like a lot, but the best thing to do is to ask questions!
"What is the best floor for my space?" is a great place to start! Is it a high traffic area? Do you have pets? Do you want something that looks inviting and feels like home?
From there, an installer can help you decide if vinyl, hardwood or carpet is best for your space. Then the questions start to narrow down to design preferences, which is the fun part!
