Skeens Specialized Pet Care, founded in 2003 and based in Lexington, MA, provides specialized in-home veterinary nursing and pet-sitting for cats, birds, rabbits, and other non-traditional pets. The service is led by a licensed veterinary technician with over 20 years of experience in veterinary medicine. Dogs are not accepted at this time. Serving Lexington and nearby communities, offerings include timed visits (30, 45, and 60 minutes) and overnight care tailored to household size and medical complexity.

Clinical support covers medication dosing and administration by oral, transdermal, otic, ophthalmic, inhalant, and injectable routes; subcutaneous fluid administration; syringe feeding; diabetic blood-glucose curves; and supportive care for chronic conditions such as diabetes, kidney and heart disease, cancer, mobility challenges, chronic gastrointestinal stasis in rabbits, and hospice needs. Low-stress handling and individualized care plans are emphasized to match each pet’s routine and medical requirements.

Appointments are available daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., including holidays and weekends.
