Jordan G. says, "ARRK handyman Service was hired by my company to put a 150ft wood fence in the backyard of our rental property with two gates in order to create privacy from the railroad tracks directly behind the property. Russell and his crew showed up ready to work in the middle of a snow storm when they live an hour and a half away. They had to cut down gigantic tree in order to install the fence on very uneven ground. The final product turned out beautifully! He did a wonderful job in regards to the work. However, I had to subtract one star for poor communication and follow thru. I had asked Russell to complete the project within a 3 day time span and to also stay in contact with me every morning with updates. The project ended up taking a full 2 weeks to complete and I was only contact one time with an update. He also put the front gate in an awkward spot, not where I had planned for it to go. In the end, The quality of work was so stunning that some of these other issues fell to the wayside. We would most definitely work with Russell and Arrk Handyman Services again!" Read more

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on HomeGuide.

What is linoleum flooring?

Linoleum flooring is a water-resistant flooring materials made with linseed oil and natural ingredients like cork, sawdust, or limestone dust. Linoleum floors non-toxic, and environmentally friendly.

How much does linoleum flooring cost?

Installing linoleum flooring costs an average of 3 to $11 per square foot. Factors that affect the cost include the floor size, the layout complexity, and the type of linoleum you choose.

  • Linoleum sheets are the cheapest type of linoleum floor, with an average material cost of $2 to $5 per square foot. These sheets are typically thin and difficult to install.
  • Linoleum planks and tiles cost $3 to $7 per square foot before installation and are designed to look like natural hardwood or stone tile. These types are easier to install than linoleum sheets.

How long do linoleum floors last?

Linoleum floors can last 20 to 50 years when properly installed and maintained. Thicker planks or tiles tend to have a longer lifespan compared to linoleum sheet flooring.

Can you paint linoleum floors?

Yes, you can paint linoleum floors. Follow these guidelines for the best and longest lasting results:

  • Thoroughly clean, degloss, and prime the floor before painting.
  • Use heavy-duty floor paint or epoxy-based floor enamel.

What is the best way to clean linoleum flooring?

To effectively clean linoleum flooring:

  • Use mild soap or pH-neutral cleaners.
  • Avoid harsh cleaners like bleach, as they can damage the linoleum.
  • Use a steam mop if needed, but do not linger in one spot for too long, as the prolonged steam can damage the linoleum.

Can you tile over linoleum?

Yes, you can tile over linoleum if the linoleum flooring is in good condition. Damaged or soft linoleum can cause the tile and grout to shift and crack. Also, If the linoleum contains asbestos, it should be removed regardless of its condition.

Reviews for Columbus linoleum flooring installers

Recent success stories from people in the Columbus area.
PATRICIA K.
I was impressed with the team who removed the carpet from the dining and living room. They made it seem easy. The refinisher,Kristen, was focused on her work bringing my 107 yr. old floors back to life. She even made some modifications to repair the floors in some spots. She loves what she does and she’s really good at it! I called her a miracle worker more than once. Everything was finished on time and within my budget. I would have liked Phil to do a final walk through inspection. I found a doorway threshold section that still had carpet tacks and didn’t get sanded or stained. Overall, I am pleased with the work.
