Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We want to look at the existing system and home to see if there are other options to consider before replacing the HVAC system. Such as insulation may be the best first step vs a system replacement or maybe duct work modification prior to the change out. Filtration can be an important piece and depending on health issues filtration may be suggested as a priority prior to the HVAC replacement.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We have NATE certification, North American Technician Excellence certifications, BPI Building Performance Institute certifications as Building Professionals in Building Envelope and Building Analysis. We have so many certification with Carrier being a Factory Authorized Dealer and with Generac as a Generac Power Pro Dealer that there are to many to list. We also carry state licenses in A/C and Electrical in LA, MS, AL and FL.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We have standard pricing for each type of service. All digital and the Service Technician will provide options when he determines the options for the service.
How did you get started in this business?
Decided to start a Residential based HVAC service business in 2001 after running a Commercial Refrigeration and HVAC business for 21 years. I carry a BS in Business Administration and an AS in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration from Ferris State University.
Worked for Tyler Refrigeration a major manufacturer in the Refrigeration business in their Research and Development Dept before moving to New Orleans.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Any customer with HVAC needs. All size homes and all types of needs
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We are always proud of being the ones to figure out the problem and finally have a satisfied customer. Many times we are the 3rd or 4th contractor in the home to solve the problem and the customer says you were the only ones that could solve the issue. This is very satisfying work.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure they understands the ACCA Manual J load, Manual D and Manual S forms. There is no substitute for engineering that is required to provide the best options. We have 50 years of experience and we won't walk in and guess as to what is needed until we have the information to make sound decisions. Most contractors don't have the ability to perform this work. It takes a lot of training and experience in this process to make sure that the data is correct for the application
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Is Energy Efficiency one of the reasons for the purchase
Is Improved Health an important criteria for the change
Is noise or discomfort the driving force for the need to change the system
Has a health event made changing out the system necessary.
Are you looking for the most recent WIFI thermostats that have apps that can provide operational data right on your phone and notify you if there is an issue.
There are many reasons to change out your A/C system and we can make sure that you make the best decision based on your specific needs.
