About this pro

10 years as a vet tech: experienced with special needs pets (post surgery, needing medications/insulin, etc.). I also have experience with exotic pets as well as some wildlife (almost 1000 volunteer hours towards getting my own wildlife rescue permit), over 75 hours at the suncoast Seabird Sanctuary, active animal activist/protester. Plenty of references available.

As far as cleaning, I am a perfectionist; specializing in pet stain/odor removal. I can make windows exposed to salt water and nicotine SPARKLE. Also up for the bigger jobs: windows, pressure washing, carpet/upholstery cleaning, construction clean up, move outs..if unsure, ask!

Besides spending time with the animals, I enjoy giving the clients a less stressful option for both themselves, and their pets.

Cleaning was through, yet non- intrusive. Other cleaners moved things around and I couldn't find what I needed. Aimee cleaned but worked around my stuff. Highly rect

She treats your pets as if they were her own. Animals are her life. She is very knowledgeable about all different breeds. I highly recommend Aimee for whatever your needs may be.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Meet and greet first, then very streamlined choice of drop off, pick up, or I can transport pet for you. Grooming and boarding services offered at either my home or in client's home, whichever they prefer. I also offer pet taxi services for veterinary appointments, behavior training, doggie daycare, etc.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

10 years as a vet tech, almost 1000 hours wildlife rescue, 75 hours at the Suncoast Seabird Sanctuary, 30+ years saving all sorts of animals.  Experience with aggressive, geriatric (or pets needing medication), post-surgery care and exotic pets; as well as wildlife. My references and letters of recommendation speak for themselves.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

Since I am only a student groomer currently, I will go on the lower end of the pricing scale until I am confident in my skills/abilities. Also, the 20 mile radius was for grooming or cleaning services; 10 miles or less for multiple visits daily. There will be set pricing for things like baths, nail trims, ear cleaning/hair plucking, anal glands expressed, etc.

Small dog bath: $30-includes ear cleaning

Medium dog bath: $40-includes ear cleaning

Large dog bath: $50-includes ear cleaning

Cat bath (temperment allowing): $40-includes nail trim and ear cleaning

Nail trim: $10 (dogs/cats only)

Anal gland expression: $20

Ear hair plucking: $10

Sanitary shave: $10

Basic house cleaning: $20/hour; inquire for pricing on bigger jobs.

How did you get started in this business?

I saw how stressed some pets were in a kennel setting, and started offering my services then.

What types of customers have you worked with?

All types:

Individual pet owners and rescues, I've done both residential and commercial cleaning, family and friends have asked me to groom their pets or work on behavior training.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Getting kisses after the nail trim. I have yet to meet a pet that enjoys it, but gaining their trust feels good.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

Read reviews. I have seen some real horror stories when in the veterinary field. Also, pay attention to your pet's demeanor before and after the visit to the groomer; a little timid is to be expected, but if they're shaking in fear...find someone else.

What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?

Experience of groomer; potential risks (bites/aggressive pets & use of muzzles; skin issues: skin tags, raw spots, special shampoos; price and what all is included; special needs of pet (health-related: injury, severe anxiety, etc.)/special diet (treats); if dropping off, are they provided water and adequate waiting area? (you'd be surprised) & exposure to other animals; accidents & how they were handled medically & financially. Again, pay attention to your pet(s) level of comfort or anxiety around the person..after doing your research of course.
