My typical process includes me coming to your house and evaluating the dog on a walk while talking to the owner about the issue. After a short walk we start working on the issue while I am explain what your dog is thinking,feeling and processing. I will show you the proper techniques and teach you commands and body language that is clear for your dog to understand so we can interrupt the negative behavior and give you the tools and knowledge to confidently and safely promote the behavior we like. 

I have worked over 20 years as a dog trainer using positive reinforcement and dog psychology rehabilitating negative behaviors. I studied under another trainer and worked for 10 years in an animal hospital before that. I have an extensive knowledge of animal health and husbandry and am able to differentiate a medical issue from a behavioral one and have multiple resources and relationships still in the medical field. Many times I have been able to help non training issue due to my contacts and extensive knowledge.

I am able to give you a better price if I know we are both committed to helping your dog. It's better for you and the dog if we train consistently. I also recommend class twice a week to stay on track and get good results. 

I worked in an animal hospital and one of the veterinarians asked me to take care of her Rottweiler while she traveled. It was the beginning of me first doing pet sitting and dog walking for people while they worked or traveled. I soon realized that I needed to be able to do more to communicate with the animals and started working under a trainer and assisting her. From there I have  helped many dogs be able to stay with their families and live long happy lives. 

I have worked with all types of clients and people  I have worked with all types of dogs. It doesn't matter the size,age or breed of the dog. Dog psychology and positive reinforcement works every time,all the time. It's about your energy and how we communicate and reward the behavior we like. 

Recently I was fortunate enough to be able to travel to Panama and participate in a monthly spay/neuter event sponsored by an animal rescue group. It was so rewarding and exciting to see the community coming together to help the dogs,cats and people of the area. We fixed over 300 animals in one day and we able to make a significant impact  in their lives and the lives of the community. 

I would definitely ask your friends and family if they have anyone they have tried and liked. And trust your gut when you interview someone. How does your dog feel around them?  This is a person that should want to have a relationship with you and your dog so you need to feel comfortable. As I what their philosophy is and does it match your beliefs? Ask your veterinarian if they have a trainer they trust?
