Frequently asked questions

I will have a phone conversation to establish whether or not I am a suitable fit for the customers needs. I will then typically go out to the residence, free of charge, and look over the potential work to be done. I will then go back home and calculate all the cost incorporated with the proposed plan, and I will work up a comprehensive job layout that will detail what it is I will do and what all is covered under that particular agreement. Meaning things and jobs can be added to an already existing job. Depending on the size of the additional work, it may require another job work up. Once we are both in agreement I will generally take 50% of the agreed upon price up front, then the rest upon satisfactory completion of all work agreed upon. Just as a side note, the cost can either include materials or not, it all depends on the customers needs and level of comfortability. I will say that generally I like to be the one getting the materials, as I am the trade professiional, and know what I am looking for. But that isn't to say a customer cannot pick out their own ceiling fans, or light fixtures they would want, it's more in regards to getting the wiring needed, or breakers etc... In the end everything is negotiable, and I am a very easy person to work with to accomplish whatever electrical needs you may have.

I currently have over 15 years in the trade. I am currently a State licensed Electrician here in Colorado, and was a certified Journeyman when I lived in California before here. I finished up to year 3 in electrical school before I tested out as a Journeyman back in 2010. I am well versed in all areas of electrical, including Residential, Commercial, and Industrial, to which i am currently working full time in Industrial electrical.

Case by case

My dad owned his own general construction company, I helped out in a lot of areas, and I was always fascinated with electrical work. So I stuck with it.

I have worked in customers homes doing retrograde and maintenance work. I have worked in customers personal businesses doing upgrades and maintenance/troubleshooting repairs. I have also worked in large corporate industrial complexes doing minor additions and device installations. So I have, in a practical sense, literally done it all...

Don't be afraid to do some research beforehand and ask questions to whoever you are considering to do work for you. It is extremely difficult to know whether or not who we are dealing with is knowledgable or skilled in what we need them for. So asking a series of thought out questions can your saving grace.
