Art was my first love. I have a Bachelor of Art in Graphic Design, Film and Video from Columbia College in Chicago, and worked as a successful graphic designer for 15 years living a vibrant life in the city. In 2009, I got married, moved to Germany and put my graphics career on hold. Unfortunately, things in Germany didn’t exactly work out, and a year later, I found myself back in Chicago going through a tough time emotionally. The one thing in my life that gave me comfort during this transition was my dog Sammie, an affectionate, protective and playful white Maltese. The healing I experienced from interacting with Sammie opened me up to explore the human connection with animals. I began volunteering at a veterinarian’s office gaining exposure to a variety of pets. Through these experiences, I discovered my second passion in life- caring for animals. I decided to pursue this passion further and from 2011-2016 I worked full time as a Vet Tech at this same office.

I started my own pet-sitting business because I’ve found it’s the best and most direct way I can care for other animals. I named the business Sammie’s Cuddle Care in honor of Sammie who ’passionate about what I do and your pet will always receive my fullest attention and the highest quality care. In every interaction, your pet will receive love, attention, and of course, lots of cuddles.

I am studying to become a dog trainer. While I am pet sitting it gives me more time to learn about the behavior of the dog and enough time to teach them tricks or basic training
