About this pro

DBS Electric relies on YOU the customer for business. When it comes to electrical, being an experienced professional is the only way to fine a good electrician.

DBS Electric continues to service Southern California customers and thrive due to the "reputation" that the customer provides on various social media platforms. Thank You to all who have helped my company grow.

When it comes to electrical, there are times when even the best electrician is met with a difficult repair or install. The end result is what I really enjoy about being an electrician.

Seeing that smile on someones face after the lights come on is a great feeling.

Doug was very diligent at his work, making sure all was done as expected. He was pleasant to talk to and he listened to what we had to say, needed and wanted. He accomplished the job as a professional and as an exceptional electrician. The charge for the work done was also reasonable. We are confident that all was done properly and according to code. We would have him do electrical work for us in the future, when needed, and will recommend him to our neighbors.

Professional/arrived on time/explained what work had to be done & cleaned up after himself after work was finished. Very knowledgeable regarding his craft.

We had 3 outlets that just stopped working one day, called Edison and they said it was not their problem so we found DBS on YELP. So happy that we did. Doug knows his stuff and he is an all around nice guy and fun to talk to about all things electrical. He found the source of the problem and got us back up and running quickly. I will pass on his name and number to anyone who asks me for an outstanding electrician!

Doug is an honest, knowledgeable and helpful electrician. We lost electricity to part of our house when we were vacuuming the upstairs. I checked the plug where the vacuum was plugged in and didn't see an issue. Finally, I picked Doug from Yelp reviews and called one morning. He was in San Diego working on a project but took the time to listen and give some advice and predicted the problem was a loose ground somewhere. He fit me into his schedule for a couple of days later and warned me that it may take time to find the source. He came on Thursday and meticulously traced the problem to its source which was a loose ground in an outlet in a room we no longer use. More than being thorough, he was very helpful in teaching us how to trace the problem and about the electrical wiring in our house. I learned a lot that day! He knows what he is doing and does it well. His rate is reasonable and he tells you up front. I plan to go to him for all my future electrical needs.

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Usually a phone conversation taking just a minuite or two helps on what needs to be done to complete your electrical install or concerns. Most estimates or quotes are given right over the phone.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Over 30 years of electrical on site experience. Attended Long Beach College studying electrical theory and applications. Served a 4 year apprenticeship program through the electricians union. Continued education and study in order to keep up with an advancing electrical industry.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

Electrical is a little different to give pricing on than carpet or concrete. It is not based on square feet. It is based on each unique scenario or install. Most estimates require a phone call describing what is needed to be done, a picture, or even sometimes an actual job walk.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

When it comes to hiring an electrical contractor, it is a good idea to make sure they are a licensed contractor for the work you are wanting done. There are alot of general contractors who claim they know to install electrical. This can be risky.
