I've been building my entire life. Since I was a child. I have 6 brothers. I am the 6th of 7. I learned my trades by watching my father and older brothers. They were in the trades, so it was easy. I learned quickly, established my baseline, started my own company, and now semi retired. I can't go a day without building something. Or fixing something. So I just do this. Little things. Makes me happy, makes the customers happy, and puts a few extra dollars in my pocket. I'm not the fastest guy out there I'm sure. But my quality and reputation stand way above the others. Try me. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to sit down with them and invite any interested parties to join us as well. I then prefer to give them a taste of my background and what I’m capable of, as well as my experience levels in any category. Then I try and get to know them a little better so as to get a better feel for exactly what they’re wanting to achieve, and exactly what type of contractor they’re looking for. Especially with having to grant (in some cases) 24 hour access for their project.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Every bit has been hands-on or in the field actually doing the work myself. Therefore you won’t be speaking with a salesman or representative of the company in the beginning, just to have a bunch of people show up that you’re not familiar with accomplish the work. The same man you met in the beginning is the same one on the jobsite daily creating your dream.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Standard? Yes and No. I’m not the most expensive, but not the least either. I typically find myself somewhere in the middle. Which also is comforting. Too high makes you wonder. Too low can make you uneasy or nervous.
How did you get started in this business?
My family. And my love or want for always needing to create something I, as well as others, could love and appreciate for a lifetime if need be.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Probably every kind. I’ve lived and worked across this beautiful nation and abroad. I’ve probably met every kind of customer. But go ahead, surprise me.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Plenty. But mostly the excitement and thrill of a deserving family getting the exact dream or proposal they imagined. That’s where my joy and drive come from. The appreciation of others.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
