Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We come together on a fee and a best time to do the inspection. I try to set an expectation for the buyer so there is no surprises. I do a consultation when the physical part of the inspection is complete to explain the concerning issues with the residence. I collect the fee and deliver the report in 24 to 48 hours via email.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Outside of being trained at larger inspection companies. I started in demolition work and moved on from there to become a general framer and ran my own appraisal company for seven years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I have somewhat of a standard but the details are hard to describe without being too long-winded. I try to determine the complexity of the job that I'm doing and estimate of how long it would take me to do it.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with selling agents, listing agents, contractors, renovators as well as sellers and buyers.
Describe a recent project you are fond of.
Just recently I was on and inspection where the selling agent was a handyman and actually repair issues on the spot. It's always great to do inspections where the seller has compassion for the buyer.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Look for someone who has great communication skills and can communicate clearly in dollars or level of safety hazardous how large the issue is and what's your concern should be. Ask if there's going to be pictures and detail communication on the report as regards to the issues in the home or residence.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What kind of service do you need? Would you like mold evaluation and testing? Do you need asbestos testing? Do you need a video scan of your sewerline? Would you like an infrared inspection (see what the eyes can't)?
