Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our interaction with new customers is very easy and quite simple. We first obtain basic information, perform an estimate, and then work on the job while keeping the customer up to date every step of the way. With us, there is no guesswork
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As a field sales and project manager with over 14 years of experience driving market share growth in designated territories, I have mastered the ins and outs of flooring sales & installation. Being an engineer, I pay attention to every single little detail and spend the majority of my time brainstorming and planning every project and sales.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
As a service-based business, it’s difficult to price services because we need a model that is scalable yet flexible enough to solve our customers’ problems. Offering a scalable, one-size-fits-all price can turn potential customers off because their needs are typically not like those of your countless other customers. At the same time, offering 100% custom pricing can limit growth because of the time required to quote every facet of your services.
We realize that typically no two jobs are the same so we strive to get as much detail as possible from every potential job. We prefer to look at the property/project to ascertain what exactly is entailed to achieve the best end results for our customers. This allows us to give the best possible price to our customers and never have to add extra costs at the end.
How did you get started in this business?
One reason to start a business is so that your job can be something that thrills you. Most people would love to have work that centers on something they care deeply about
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have worked with All types. Having worked for years in Southern California – I have worked with an array of people. Everyone’s case is unique in its own way.
We work with all types of customers. We do residential or commercial projects and no job is too small
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have worked on many important projects throughout my career. What's really crucial for me when starting one is to get very clear on the goals right at the start and then create a plan with milestones. I also like dealing with the most difficult parts of the projects early on—that way in case there are any significant issues, I'll still have a nice amount of time to complete before the deadline. I also typically break down large tasks into smaller chunks, so that it is easier to know where to start. Detailed planning is very important to ensure an important project goes smoothly.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Research your options in hiring a contractor. Consider your personal needs. Be wary of free Estimation as most experienced, frequently hired Contractors value their time and value their time spent for consults and work in general.
We would tell them to look to establish a friendship with whoever it is you will give your business to. Make sure that they are responsive to your phone calls and emails. There is nothing more frustrating than working with a contractor that you can’t ever seem to reach. We realize this and work hard to ensure that you feel like our only customer. And while we realize that this is a business agreement we want to take stress and tension out of the equation and build a friendship throughout the process.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
it's important to really know what your expectations are of the contractor and communicate these expectations with the contractor before anything is agreed upon. This is always helpful.. transparency is key for both parties.
Customers should have these things in their minds or fully decided before even meeting with their contractor('s) to gather quotes.
1. Want They want to be done (Scope of work)
2. When they want the work to start (timeline)
3. What they want to spend (budget)
4. Possibly a finished design( Pending whether they want the contractor to furnish design or they will)
From there the contractor can give you numbers based on the scope of work, tell you whether they can make the timeline work or not, and tell you if the price is reasonable or not, and can help you find a designer.
