What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to get detailed information on each pet, so I can schedule accordingly. I will ask questions such as size, temperament, coat condition, grooming history. I do require vaccinations be up to date.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
25 years grooming experience with continued education at grooming seminars. Previous vet tech experience, and a degree in animal science.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Prices are based on size of dog, coat condition, the amount of time each pet takes. I do not base on breed, but each individual pet.
How did you get started in this business?
In order to get experience in the veterinary field, I worked as an assistant in a vet clinic. I would watch the groomer work, and decided that was for me. I went to a local grooming school, but halfway through, I left and got a job as an apprentice groomer at a salon. I worked for a number of shops over the next 10 years, and opened my own salon in 2004.
