Frequently Asked Questions
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our pricing varies depending on the job and the amount of time we spend and how far we travel. Some jobs are as little as $15 and some are $100. We do our best to work with you. We offer package discounts. For example if you buy 10 or 20 walks or pet visits at a time we can offer you a discount on our services. Give us a call and let's see what we can work out with you, for your pet care needs.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We meet with the new client and their animals and go over where the animal supplies are and what kind of services they are seeking, we talk about the different services we offer to accommodate their needs. We also cover pricing and payment options at that time and collect keys to the house if necessary.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are pet first aid certified and have been in the field for more than 25 years.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
My first pet sitting experience was when I was 10 years old and I took in a dog for a family that had been temporarily displaced. I took the dog in and cared for it as if it were my own. Being so young (I secretly wished the dog would become mine). A few months later the family was back on their feet and they came to get Ginger. I was sad to see her go but was happy I was able to help them and their furbaby out. In college I pet sat and house sat for clients who were out of town. After college I had a handful of jobs, most of which I didn't like. I kept circling around the idea that I needed more animals in my life. I began working as a dog walker and pet sitter for a local company where I quickly rose to manager. My husband came on board to help out too. After a few years of doing this professionally Nathan and I broke away and began our own company.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We work mostly with professionals who are out at work all day or traveling, and whom want care for their animals. We have worked with dogs large and small. Some with anxiety, and behavioral issues. We have worked with cats, birds, bunnies, horses, snakes.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
We recently had two dogs in our home for 4 days, a jack russell/french bull dog mix and a German Shepherd. We love these dogs and it was so much fun to have multiple days to spend with them! Our 10 year old really enjoyed it too.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure you are confident that the professional can work with your dog and give you assurance that everything will go smoothly. This is why I always recommend local companies instead of the apps like Rover and Wag.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Any concerns about other animals in the area or anxiety issues, dietary concerns, medications or behavioral concerns. Or anything else that you may want to discuss. We always try to be open and honest with our clients we really want everyone to be happy with a job well done!
I love that it gets me outside with animals everyday no matter what the weather is like.
