What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Get a few estimates. Don't automatically pick the least expensive (or most expensive) one. Quality matters, and price should be just one factor you consider in your overall decision making process because all contractors are not the same, and their approach to the repair may be very different.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
How well insured is my contractor?
Do they have Worker's Compensation insurance?
Do they actually pull permits and get their work inspected?
Are their contracts in writing, is the process high tech and modern, does the company seem organized?
What is the warranty, and are there a lot of catches to it and pages of exceptions to the guarantee?
