I've been training dogs in the PNW for the last two years. Prior to that I trained in California. My entire purpose to opening a business here was to give positive based, love guided, personal training to every dog owner in need.
I Train the HumansTM. I train you to train your dog. I have texting, video sessions, and printed reminders for each and every client built into the cost of the training. I'm here to help. I understand that not everyone works together well, so all of my clients start with an Assessment. This is a time for me to assess your dog, as well as for us to get to know each other.
It's important to remember that each person needing training had a life prior to getting a dog. I train around the life you have, to create a relationship with your dog where the training is a fun way to spend time together, versus being a chore.
I have 6 kids, so training kids just comes with the territory. Whether 3 or 17, your kiddos can train with you. With our special weather I also train you on what to do when the outside isn't a place you want to be.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Honestly? I think it's when I see the lightbulb go off. It happens twice. Once for the Human. Then once for the dog. That changes everything. I know we are nearing the end of our time together then, so it's bittersweet. They have the tools, they have the knowledge, and when that lightbulb goes off I know they have the confidence.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with an Assessment. It's affordable, and it gives me a chance to assess the dog. Issues, trainability, and to let the people meet to make sure we all get along as well.
Everyone gets to ask all of the questions they may have, and a report is emailed out within 48 hours with suggestions for a training program specific to their needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Over 20 years of experience, and constant learning to be sure to be on the forefront of all new training tools for clients and the pups.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Assessments are $30 for a 30 minute in-home assessment.
If there are walking issues, or reactivity issues, I usually set up a 60 minute session in-and-out of home for $60.
After that it's about which program they desire.
How did you get started in this business?
Dogs like me. I love them. I have an affinity for being able to communicate to them.
I have also been told that I Train the Humans™ well. I explain what to do in everyday language and invite all questions needed until everyone feels like they understand fully.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Kids as young as 3 to adults in their 70's. Dogs as young as 8 weeks to dogs as old as 17.
Age doesn't matter as much as commitment and desire to learn does.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I am working with a puppy right now. When we started training his owner had almost no control. The puppy was refusing to listen, would actively disobey, and (at only 13 weeks old) would seek out ways to be defiant.
I went to do a session (we are 10 weeks in) and my client had her dog sitting, waiting, and watching her as I came in the door. He didn't move until she released him. She then had him doing full recall out front with heavy distractions...but most proud thing? She was calm. She was collected. The pup broke at one point and wouldn't listen - she just used her tools and regained control. I was so freaking proud!!!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Be sure to interview them. Ask EVERYTHING. If it sounds stupid, ask anyway. A great trainer knows that there are no stupid questions. Just failed opportunities.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Training isn't cheap. It's pretty pricey, and there are NEVER any guarantees. Every dog is different.
Please, please remember - hardware doesn't replace training. Train, don't zap/choke/pinch/ or otherwise punish your dog to get it to listen.
