About this pro

I am a National Ceritfied Dog Trainer/Behaviourest with over 45 years experience helps dogs and their owners. Price for a 1 hour lesson is $150 I come to your location, must have driveway or front of house parking (no parking garages or parking lots). Price if you come to me in Carnation is $75, I am located 5 miles from Snoqualmie Falls. NO ESTIMATES by text or email! If you hit an automatic response through the thumbtack system I may not respond. The system has a lot of glitches, PLEASE call me or send a personal message. I am old school, call me to discuss your needs and do a phone interview to see if we are a good fit. My number to call is: four-two-five-two-two-one-six-three-two-seven. I am a Nationally Certified Dog Trainer & Behaviourest. With over 45 years of experience in the canine world I bring a plethora of training techniques with me. I also bring multiple training items with me so we can try out what works best for you and your canine friend. This allows me to customize my lessons to the specific needs of you and your canine friend(s). Methods used by such greats as Cesar Millan the “Dog Whisperer” style of human training/canine rehabilitation and Victoria Stilwell style of positive reinforcement are all great methods. Let me show you how to apply the correct method for you and your canine friend to achieve the proper balance and a happy life together. People ask me "What is included in your price?" My answer is, everything you want to address in our one (1) hour lesson. Sound weird? First you call me, we have a brief phone interview to make sure I am the trainer you are looking for, we schedule a day/time for a lesson, you make a list of all your concerns and when we meet we address as much as possible in the hour. It takes 21 consecutive days for a new habit/pattern to form. If you are consistent and follow through you will see an improvement. Pretty straight forward and simple really. I do not believe in high prices, contracts, and extended training packages. Why? Most problems can be corrected in 21 days, it is all up to you and how much time you put into your lesson time with your fur-kid. If you apply 10 minutes twice a day you will see fast results. I love dogs, any size, any breed, any age and I want to see all dogs get the help they need so their guardians, fosters, and volunteers can understand them better and their behavioral issues to keep dogs out of shelters. Some of my background is: • Business owner of Sylvia's K9 Services, • Trainer and competitor in Seiger Shows (equivalent to AKC conformation), • Schutzhund trainer & competitor (which involves Tracking-Obedience-Protection), • Massage Therapist for humans and animals, • Veterinary Nutritional Advocate, • Certified Pet Care Technician, • Lead Animal Hospital Attendant, • Acupressure, Aquatic Therapy, Energetic Healing, Non-Verbal Communication, Aroma Therapy , • CPR & First Aid Certified for pets by the American Red Cross, • Consultant/trainer to police and sheriff’s departments on K-9 problems, • Service Dog trainer/consultant, I train you to train your partner, • AKC CGC (Canine Good Citizen) & STAR Puppy Evaluator • CDT (Certified Dog Trainer) and CDT Evaluator through the IACP (International Association of Canine Professionals) and • Launch member of Cesar Millan’s (The Dog Whisperer) Trainer Program. * Voted the "Best of 2015 & 2016" and "Top Pro 2016, 2017 & 2018" award by Thumbtack.com * **Please be aware I have a large vehicle, if you do not have a place for me to park in front of your home/apartment then parking fees will be added to your charges.** ** If a dog is severely aggressive to dogs/humans, I may refer you to someone else. ** Please go to my personal website for further information, thank you. There is no need to pay an arm and a leg to get the results you are looking for. Give me a call and lets see if I am the right person to help. Thanks Why do I love what I do? I love watching the connection between humans & canines come together for a happier relationship.

The enjoyment I get when I see a dog and owner connectiing in a way that will build on their bond and be forever forever.

How did you get started in this business?

Started when I was a teen training and caring for our neighbors pets. It just kept growing from there :-) I love helping pets, in training to see how they progress and in pet sitting so they are not alone in a cold cage somewhere.

What types of customers have you worked with?

You name it: elderly, kids, physically challenged, people from other countries whos English may not be the best yet. I love working with all kinds of people and pets :-)

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Service Dog training, I love working with people and their dogs and when I can help a person and dog bond tightly to become a Service Dog is no greater reward for them and me :-)

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

References! Credentials! PLEASE check out their background, there is NO STATE regulations on becoming a dog trainer in WA. state. Veterinarians ARE NOT trainers! If your Vet or Vet tech is giving you advise on training ask them how much training they have had in this area. I am not a Vet or Vet tech and I CANNOT give you advise on medical issues. Same goes for them, they are not professional dog trainers. I have over 300 letters of reference on my web site & Thumbtack.com

What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?

References! Credentials! How many years have you been in this type of business? Why have you chosen this profession? Did you study under a professional? Attended an accredited school? On line course? PLEASE check out what they are telling you, these is NO STATE regulations on becoming a dog trainer in WA. state. Also if you go to a Petco or PetSmart for training and they list their trainers as being Certified, those trainer are only Cert with in that company.
