About
I help owners have a healthy and happy relationship with their dogs! I use dog psychology and behavior to help you better understand your dog and how we can communicate to them in a way that’s natural and makes sense to them. My biggest focus with training is not the dog, it's the human. We focus on creating a better relationship between you and your dog, one where the dog is able to follow the human. Most dogs unfortunately are forced to make decisions because the human isn't leading them, which creates all these behavioral issues. I help owners become someone the dog can trust, respect and love. This is someone they feel safe with and know that they do not have to make decisions.

I really love being able to teach owners how to connect with their dogs. How to understand them and lead them. It's really awesome seeing when owners have an "ah-ha" moment and putting things together. I love seeing the relationship between human and dog strengthen as time progresses.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For in person clients we begin with a free 30 minute consultation. This is where we go over briefly about your situation and what your goals are. The first couple sessions we meet in a public setting and then in home sessions are offered. In the very beginning we almost always focus on the leash walk because that is the most important part of your relationship with your dog. Then we tackle other foundational areas and then as we progress we build on top of what we've taught the dog.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I first began with taking 12 sessions from a local trainer years ago. Then I was introduced to their mentor Nelson Hodges and I've done a couple of his courses. I've gone to Oregon to attend a seminar my Oregon Tails. Most recently I went to CA to do a workshop with Cheri Lucas.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
In person is $75/hr and video sessions are $50/hr. In home is extra for travel depending on your location. Local to Edmonds/Lynnwood it is only $10 extra. Group classes are currently free for clients.
How did you get started in this business?
When I was 10 I got my first dog, a Labrador retriever named Axel. He was 8 weeks old. We had two other dogs at the time too. As time went on, Axe developed dog aggression (not just reactivity) and countless other issues. Through trial and error over many years we figured out what worked and what didn’t work. Once I started working with Axel and learning dog psychology, my eyes were opened to a new world. A world many people didn’t understand. Then on I always wanted to help people and their dogs.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All sorts from puppies to older dogs. Most of what I get are dogs who are already showing signs of fear or reactivity with dogs or humans. Lots of excited dogs who constantly pull their owners. But I've helped many different types of dogs with a variety of issues.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love our group classes we offer! After we've done a few sessions I will often invite clients to join our group classes. Here I see so much growth from people and their dogs. I am always amazed at how well the dogs do. The dogs truly are so ready to improve, we as humans just have to remain calm and confident and trust what we've taught out dogs. When we do this, it's beautiful to see how the dogs handle these close encounters!
