I became a dog trainer 11 years ago, and started my pet sitting business, Claws for the Cause, in 2009.
I'm pet CPR and First Aid certified, pet psychology certified, and insured. I'm able to give most medications without problem (including IVs for dogs and cats).
I love to work with all species, not just dogs and cats. I currently see ferrets, sugar gliders, rabbits, Guinea pigs, bearded dragons and other lizard species, cornsnakes, various python and boa species, geckos, and more.
I'd love to provide loving, reliable care for you and your pet companion, whether it’s for training or sitting.

The simplest way to put it is that I love animals. I prefer animals to people. I got started in this field with dog training and basic animal care, and the more I got involved, the more I knew I was on the right path.
I love taking care of animals. I've taken pack adventures to Ocean Shores, Cape Flattery, and the Key Peninsula, and I’ve brought packs on hikes in the Cascade foothills. With cats, who enjoy the playtime they get and really appreciate a clean litterbox, I love providing affection and reassurance while their humans are away.
When it comes to dog training, I really enjoy helping pet parents and their dogs start communicating. It’s always a pleasure to help shape that bond with positive behavior modifications. I offer group courses and classes, private in-home sessions, and behavior-specific seminars.
I also can't get enough time walking outside with the pups. It's great exercise for the dogs and provides amazing pack bonding and socialization. Walking all over Seattle, I help your dog gain exposure to many new things, get a great workout, and come home ready to snuggle.
It is my pleasure to share my confidence in Jennifer and my appreciation for the way she cares for and works with our two dogs, Sylvie (a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel) and Latte (our Golden Doodle puppy ). Jennifer checks all the boxes; prioritizing safety, fun and healthy activity. She is creative in how she manages the dogs and has gone the extra mile on multiple occasions if a critical challenge occurs. We will always remember the special way Jennifer cared for our aged, senior Golden in her last days. The proof is in the pudding: our dogs ‘vote’ for Jennifer with their elation when they see her! We trust Jennifer with our dogs unconditionally.
Jennifer covers all our concerns. She is accountable, thoughtful and loving towards our pets. We had a house/pet sitter for a number of years who moved out of area. I reached out and one of our acquaintances suggested Jennifer and Claws. We set up an interview. Jennifer re-confirmed the day before coming and arrived on time... she closed on working with us when she walked around from our front door to our backyard (we had suggested this) and our two dogs went up to meet her. They responded to her as if she was their long lost friend. Deal done. We have worked with Jennifer/Claws for several years and have always been pleased.
Jennifer has been walking my dogs for about four or five years. She is responsible and reliable. She is also honest — an important qualification when you give someone the keys to your house. The dogs very obviously love her. My old dog, Sal, was convinced that Jennifer paid me to walk him :-)
Jennifer is super professional, consistent and trustworthy and WONDERFUL with dogs! She's had a key to my house for years and is highly dependable.
