About
Do you want to know that your dog is having a fun vacation while you're away on a trip? If so, 4PawsDogResort is the place to go! My name is Nancy and my husband, Dave, and I will welcome your dog into our family home - where we have a fenced in yard and I am home full time. I pay close attention to your furry, loved one and they love it here! I have been dog sitting for over 35 years.
We usually have 3-4 furry guests at a time - along with our dog, Penny. She's a 9-year-old, border-collie-mix who is a great hostess. The dogs get to go on an adventure to an off leash park or the trails - usually once a day. All the dogs get lovin', companionship and exercise - with butt scratches and tummy rubs too!
You'll be updated at the end of each day with pictures and a status report detailing our daily activity.
Please go to my website to find out details about me, where we live, my expectation and my availablity. I work with Rover and my website is: www.4PawsDogResort.com.
I LOVE and understand dogs and enjoy providing great customer service for people who have to leave their loved ones behind. I help them know that their dogs are happy and safe when they're away. That's what I expect and look for in my own dog sitter.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
A meet 'n greet at my home is required before the dog stays here. It gives the dog a chance to get used to being here and meet my dog and any others staying here. It also gives the owner and myself a chance to assess the situation.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I informally studied with various dog trainers while living in Southern California. I also worked for several years in a veterinary hospital in Bellevue.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
The normal price is $43/for 24 hours. If drop off and pick up times are different, the price may change.
How did you get started in this business?
My love of dogs. I've been watching dogs all my adult life (over 35 years) and for Rover.com for 6 1/2. Many years ago, I wanted to find somebody I trusted to look after my (at the time) two dogs while WE were away on vacation. He did such a great job and I knew I could give others the same feeling of trust and peace while they were away - knowing that their dogs were having fun and were safe.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All sorts/ages. We don't usually watch little dogs under 20 lbs. We mostly enjoy watching medium to large dogs that are potty trained, well behaved (know basic commands such as heel, sit, stay) and are mellow at home.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A recent boarder was SO quiet and seemingly bored at our house that I didn't think he'd get much out of going to the park. Boy was I wrong! He was a completely different dog there and was beyond excited to herd Penny and play fetch; talking and jumping. :-)
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Interview at least two or three sitters to make sure you feel good about them and their home. The goal is to be able to feel TRUST and be at peace enough to leave your precious, furry, baby with that sitter.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What kind of an environment are you looking for? How many dogs will be staying at the same time as your dog? Is your dog well socialized with others? Be honest about any negative behaviors.
