About

We will come to you for one on one training and we have a board and train program. We will pick up your fur baby, train her/him and return them to you. I have 35+ years of experience.

Our founder and CEO, James Todd started training dogs over 20 years ago. He trained several police K9s for patrol, narcotics, and explosives. However, he found providing household pets training the most rewarding experience. James spent years learning to recognize the varying needs of basic training for the home and public environment.

James began as a kennel assistant at the Peninsula SPCA while in high school. He eventually worked his way up to being an animal control officer. In his early twenties, he joined the Newport News police department's K9 unit for several years. After that, James trained dogs for the ATF. Later in his career, under orders from the US State Department, he worked to set up and run the K9 program with Aegis World Wide Protection at US Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan. Additionally, James trained with American K9 Interdiction, New Mexico Tech, Ventosa Kennels, and Von Liche Kennels.

    Frequently asked questions

We will spend about an hour or more before we train with the family to get to know you. I want you to be comfortable with us and us with you. We do not believe that your fur baby should have any harsh training. We train with love and make it fun. We also train you for continuing training.
