Heather at HBates Interior Design staged 2 homes for me that were coming on the market for sale. For both projects she used the clients existing furniture and decorative items, but arranged them in such as way as to showcase the features of the home. In both situations I believe the value of the home was increased by the work Heather did and the suggestions she made to the homeowner. Heathers style is best described as casual elegance. I would hire her again if the opportunity presented.

Upon my first meeting Heather, I felt comfortable as she is quite personable and, willing to not only listen to what I said but incorporate some of the design I already have while introducing a slight twist.

As my living area is very large and includes the living room as well as kitchen area, I want to change the colors of the walls yet; have to be cautious as I have very little natural light in those areas. Heather gave suggestions as to the counter top I have as well as should I decide to go with another top to use Quartz.

The main bathroom is off the kitchen area, we chose a color that would compliment the living/kitchen area as well as changing the present sink to a pedestal sink as well as a bookcase for extra items normally kept under a bathroom sink. To give the room a bit more glamour, I want to raise the shower curtain to the ceiling. Heather suggested a Queen sized sheet.

It is amazing how little it really costs to transform a house into a home when on a tight budget. I would recommend HBates Interior Design with pleasure.

Heather is very nice, approachable and has a welcome sense of humor. She came into our house ready to understand our wants and needs while keeping an eye on what could be easily repaired to make house run more efficienty.. We worked off a project list she was willing to use. While not from Charlotte, she immediately made connections to ensure the design process would move forward. When we were away for a bit over the summer, she helped install (and make returns) the porch furniture, and got pillow inserts I forgot to order, as well as placed orders for upholstering. She also used Houzz and Pinterest to share design boards and ideas - this is great for those of us who need to see a visual or look and feel before executing.
