Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
An initial chat on the phone to assess the customer's needs and provide a clear understanding of the home staging or redesign process is the first step. If the client wants to proceed, an on-site consultation is set up. A virtual consultation is also an option if pictures and room measurements are available. A comprehensive review & suggestions are given regarding the interior and exterior of the space. A proposal that fits the client's budget is provided. The actual staging is completed in a day.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
i have a dual certification in home staging and room redesign. I have owned my own company, Savvy Staging, LLC., for four years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Pricing is both standard and custom. My fees are provided on my website: www.savvystagingrva.net. The consultation fee is $150.00 and the hourly staging fee is $100.00. The quote for each property is customized based on the size, rental furniture needed, type of property( luxury or vacation home) and customer budget.
How did you get started in this business?
i love immediate gratification! Redesigning a space(s) can bring new energy to a room and be so uplifting. Homeowners fall back in love with their home. It can help bring a sense of organization and calm. Home staging transforms something typical into something "wow". I'm such a visual person so I knew this was the perfect fit for me.
What types of customers have you worked with?
My customers are realtors, condo owners, rental property owners, house flippers, homeowners ranging from millennials to empty nesters.
Describe a recent project you are fond of.
I recently did a full home staging of a house in the 200k range. The home had so many great attributes for it's size; open concept floor plan, updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances, 3 spacious bedrooms, 2 car garage, large screened porch, slated patio and a generously sized fenced backyard. I was able to incorporate a mix of design styles to appeal to the mass market of potential buyers. The owners were so pleased with the results that they asked if I would help them decorate their new house!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Review the pro's website and familiarize yourself with the concept of home staging and room redesign. Check out photos of recent projects to get a sense of the provider's style. Know your budget range. Keep in mind that if you're putting your property On the market that your goal is to get a sale as quickly as possible for the most dollars as possible. It's much more palatable to spend $2,000 or so on staging it properly than to have to reduce your list price.
