I'm not a professional, but I help all of my friends and family with their dogs, along with my friend who owns a pet sitting company, so I have a lot of voulenteer expierence.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I'd prefer to meet the dog in it's comfortable envirnment with it's people around. I'd like to chat with the owner about whats going on while the dog sniffs and gets used to me. Depending on what the objective is, I would either take the dog for a walk to build a connection, or would like to see how the owner handles the dog under certain circumstances.
