I am patient and take my time. I know how to work with the nervous critters, hyper critters, and ones that cannot stand. I am constantly adapting and learning new and better ways to do my job. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I first like to get a brief bio on the pet. Has he ever been groomed or had nails done before? How often? Is he nervous or shy or hyper? What relaxes him? Then I will explain the process of whatever i am doing for my client that day. If i need to move slow and take my time I will let them know it will be a longer time frame to be completed. I have a liability form that needs to be signed. If the animal is staying with me for boarding or grooming he must have an updated rabies vaccine on file.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a background in biology and psychology. I finished at the top of my class of veterinary assistant training. I have my pet first aid, cpr, and kennel certificates. I do training with the national dog groomers association of America yearly.

How did you get started in this business?
I was a full time barn hand/horse trainer until I got pregnant with my son, and needed to switch to something a little safer to do while pregnant. I fell in love with grooming and stayed in the business in addition to running my farm.
