Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Consultation, figure out what services are needed, and take action!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Ben Fisher Irrigation 40 hour class before licensing, and I have to take 24 credit hours every 3 years to renew my license. I have been licensed since 2007. I work on sprinklers full time.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
$60 trip charge, $75 for 1st hour to check irrigation system and flag issues, including programming the controller to respect the local city water restrictions (where applicable), then I give an estimate for repairs and improvements to system. Some properties have more extensive issues that require more time to fix, such as repairing broken mainlines caused by excessive trere roots, so I will charge extra for more time to cut through tree roots to fix the isssues. Repair bills can be $135 or it can be $500, so every job is different, and it's difficult to have blanket prices for everything I do.
I DO, however, give a 10% discount to senior citizens (over 65), military veterans and currently serving in our wonderful military, and Pastors of Christian chruches.
How did you get started in this business?
I've always been involved in working in the landscape field, as young as 12, mowing lawns in the neighborhood, but professionally around 2007, when I decided to get licensed in irrigation to pursue a career in irrigation.
