Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I always start out with finding out the full scope of the project, what their expectations are and a general sense of what their design style is, or at least what they like or dislike. We address the time line, and budgetary concerns and priorities. Once I get to know you and you get to know me a bit better we can really tackle a project head on.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received a Bachelor of Architecture form the University of Houston. My background consists of doing mostly residential architecture, producing permit plan sets, and in interiors in the residential and commercial industry doing multifamily, motel/hotels, and other small commercial. I have been doing this for over 5+ years and also provide rendering and visualization services that really bring the full concept of a project together.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I do offer my services in package pricing, set tier structures. I have modified this on a project per project basis when a project doesn't fit into the typical mold. I do offer hourly rates or day rates when needed.
How did you get started in this business?
After going to school for architecture my first job out of college was providing interior design and architecte for a real estate agency that dealt with home builders and developers. I was in charge of a small team there and would meet with both home buyers as well as the builders and sellers.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with customers on all sides of a construction projects from the home buyers, to contractors and developers, investor builders etc. I am very familiar with all aspects of the process, and understand what problems may arrise and how best to navigate them.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Being as i am writing this during Covid i have not gotten to go to any recent events. I do enjoy checking out the houston home expo as well as the sand castle competition in galveston and the builders expos that are all usually an anual event. It's always great to see what others are doing to get inspired, share creativity, and see the latest products on the market.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Always ask as many questions as possible. There are no bad or stupid questions especially when it comes someone providing services for your home. There are a lot of people that will over charge you or those who will low ball a project. Price doesn't dictate someones skill level or how qualified they may be. Trust your insticts and work with someone that gets you.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Know a budget and any concerns that are making you nervous about your project. If you have an idea of what you think you want share it, save a photo, get on pinterest. The more information you provide the better the process goes. Ask them their design style and preferences, do they align with yours? Don't be afraid to put them through the ringer, you want someone who can handle that while showing expertise and kindess.
