What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually set up a meet and greet before I accept a job so
I can make sure we are a good fit.
I take notes as to their expectations and give them my information.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a teaching degree. I have worked in sales and marketing, training, teaching as well as pet care for over 30 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I charge typically 25 per night at my house for pet sitting, $50 a night to house sit at your home. Prices vary based on the tasks at hand.
How did you get started in this business?
I have been doing this kind of business since 1986 when a I graduated college. As a special education teacher I had always needed supplemental income to raise my daughter. This was a way to turn my passion into a job.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with schools,private families, agencies, and corporate companies.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
i have just recently House sat for a family who rescues special needs animals. It was both fulfilling and fun. I enjoyed each animal and as I was there for 14 days I got close to all of them.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I suggest to meet the potential sitter far enough in advance so if you are not comfortable with each other you have time to find another match.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
I would ask how much time they would spend at the house or with the pets. Ask for a background check and make sure they have reliable transportation.
