About
I am an experienced pet sitter and dog walker who has been studying the new research on social thinking in dogs. I offer pet sitting, dog walking, and coaching in social thinking.
As a dog trainer, sitter, and walker, I am capable and gentle towards all dogs including assertive, hyper, and timid dogs.
I know this is hokey, but I love challenges. I love it when a dog’s behavior confuses me or when what I thought would work doesn’t work. It’s fun to me for some reason. Good thing I’m good at it, right?
I am not keen on obedience training. Research has found a greater incidence of behavior problems in dogs with some types of obedience training and has not found a single obedience training technique that reduces behavior problems. This is why I have switched to cognitive- and relationship-based techniques!
Don't get me started on my own dog cognition projects. I'll talk your ear off!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Everyone is going to claim they are science-based! Ask them more about it. You'll find that a lot of "science-based" trainers are relying on old science, which is cherry-picking. Worse yet, many "sciece-based" trainers rely on unregulated vocational programs to teach them what "science says" and wouldn't know how to fact-check new information about dogs personally.
Always ask about their stance on aversives before you schedule a session!
