What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Teaching dogs is really about teaching people. And most people aren't aware of all the new, really positive dog training methods available today. Our job is to arm you with the latest, best training practices, then help you apply them to your pet. Yet even with all advances in positive training, it still takes a lot of skill, good timing, and practice to train a dog. We use what we call the "3-T's" in training, TONE/TIMING/TECHNIQUE. So we work with you through one-on-one or in small classes, to provide you with hands-on coaching and real-world methods to help you transform your pet into a loving, polite, and safe member of your household.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Founded in 1977, we've trained and cared for thousands of dogs and even more people.
Our practical, unique curriculum is based on the concepts of positive rewards and "BALANCED" training, using clear communication and not the unwanted treat, clicker, pinch collar or e-collar methods. Whether your dog needs training, more exercise or behavior modification our award-winning work is completely focused on helping almost any dog become a better, more enjoyable family pet.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We offer a package. Start to finish. Everyone moves at their own pace. We set our goals on completing in 4 sessions but realize not everyone learns in the same timeframe. So we allow 6 weeks to finish what we start.
We also have a 2 day "FAST TRACK TRAINING" that runs $2500 and includes hotel accommodations for up to 2 adults, Lunch package. This training is for dogs 6 mo and older and for those of you that are busy individuals. Don't do Board n Trains where you struggle with your dog afterwards because you were not trained properly. Get the full training for YOU and your dog in a condensed 2 day session.
How did you get started in this business?
I was born to it. I am second generation and my adult children are 3rd generation
Lots of hard work and living with 10-50 dogs at a time and completing many dog venues to award winning status
What types of customers have you worked with?
All across the board. Every day households to celebs and movie makers and police and bomb or cancer detection. ALL dogs need a FOUNDATION to keep them on the right track
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Netflix series coming out soon. 7 dogs, 8 Police and Swat officers. Good Canine was in charge of the shoot. Every day trainings. Love to see the light bulb in both owner and dog turn on simotaniously.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Just do it. No regrets hiring us. 48 yrs experience. Can't ask for much more
