About
I am a certified dog trainer who grew up training dogs. I have done everything from basic and intermediate obedience, to therapy dog training, CGC Training, and tricks. I even taught several of my dogs to play soccer.
I wholeheatedly believe in the saying "Kind but Firm" That's why I keep how the dog thinks and feels in mind with everything I do.
But first and foremost, I teach you the foundation you need to train your dog, so you can go on to teach your future dogs the same thing you have learned.
When you leave my training session you not only leave with techniques for both you and your dog work on, you'll have been taught how dogs learn, how to apply the techniques you've learned in other scenarios, and many other things along the way.
Training takes place at my house, so you and your dog will be taught hands on in a home environment that you can both feel comfortable in.
Dog training is never the same from dog to dog; even if you are teaching the same thing. Each dog is coming from a different place and has different experiences.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first thing I like to do when meeting a new customer is do an over the phone consultation to discuss what their needs are. Then, if I feel like I can help, I do an in person training session.
During the first session I observe behaviors, come up with stratagies to help, and talk with the owner about how to start inplementing those stratagies.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am certified in clicker training through Karen Pryor Clicker Training Academy, am very well read on various training styles and techniques used to train dogs, and I grew up working with dogs as welll.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
The over the phone consultation is free snd every in person session is $25. Payment is to be delivered upon arriving to the session in cash or check form.
How did you get started in this business?
I grew up training dogs and it has always been a passion. Since I always trained my own dogs, I didn't initially realize that it was something people did as a career. When I was in college, I witnessed a dog training class going on at school and said to myself, "This is what I want to do with my life." I left school after almost completing my associates degree and became a certified dog trainer.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Mostly people who are really busy and need efficient solutions to help their dogs better fitbin with their lives.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure the person your hiribg is experienced with dogs. A lot of new dog trainers will use your dog as a test case for their methods and that can sometimes end up harming the dog.
