About

To learn more about me and what I do, please check out my Instagram page or Facebook page @GoodVibesK9

I specialize in Service Dog Training, Behavior Modification, Off-Leash Reliability, Basic and Advanced Obedience, as well as Puppy Training and Socialization.

I started my journey 12 years ago when I began training horses. As I grew and evolved I switched gears and turned my focus towards dogs. I have spent the last 5 years expanding my knowledge, attending seminars, working with incredibly talented trainers and constantly finding new ways to improve for the sake of the dogs.

My entire program revolves around building a solid relationship between you and your dog as well as empowering you with the knowledge to clearly and effectively communicate with them.

Working with Koen was very educational! I learned so much more about my dog than I thought I would. He showed me specific areas that I needed to work on to help my dog become better mannered. And areas that we were having issues in how to fix those. Koen spoke like he was very educated in Canine Behavior and gave us everything we needed through that education. We feel we received exactly what we needed.

Koen is kind and intuitive. My animals responded to him very easily and naturally and seemed to enjoy working with him. He taught me simple tactics to upkeep training that have proven very effective at home. And his little service dog in-training, River, is the sweetest and smartest puppy! We loved him! Overall, a joy to work with.

    Frequently asked questions

Typically we will schedule a phone call to talk about everything in detail, if you decide to book over the phone, there is a 50% deposit to secure your spot for training. If your dog has severe behavioral problems, I require a 2 hour in-person consultation combined with a private lesson before we agree to work with one another. This will allow us to ensure that we are a good fit for each other as well as allow me to meet your dog and evaluate the severity of their behaviors to determine the best training option moving forward. We will also speak with in depth about your goals and expectations for training to ensure everyone is on the same page.

I have been training dogs professionally for 5 years. I had completed numerous apprenticeships before starting my own company, and I continue to further my education by going to seminars and working closely with a wide variety of incredible trainers.

Do your research, read reviews, talk with past clients, ask the trainer a lot of questions and make sure they can tell you WHY they do something, not just what they do.
This is an unregulated industry so anyone can slap on a hat and call themselves a trainer. San Antonio is over saturated with unqualified trainers, so it is very important to really dig deep when looking for a qualified trainer to help you and your dog.
No training is better than bad training.

How do your methods work? Why do they work?
How long have you been training dogs professionally?
How many dogs do you take at one time?
Where are the dogs kept when boarding?
Where are dogs kept when traveling in a car to and from the facility?
How many trainers are on staff? How long have they been training dogs?
What tools do you use? Why do you use those tools?
How do you condition the dogs to the tools prior to use?
What methods do you use for reinforcement? What methods do you use for punishment?
    How do you build motivation?
What experience do you have with (insert your specific problem here)? What was the outcome?
