I obtained a BA in Set Design and went onto my MFA where I graduated top of my class for Interior Architecture and Design. Since then, I have worked for international firms in Boston and Austin Texas, where I currently reside.
I love working with clients from beginning to end: developing concepts, sketching ideas, pulling samples and the creating the final wow factor.
One of the great things about design, is that the project goes through phases, and I love the variety. I love meeting with clients and understanding their needs and wants, composing plans and elevations, doing 3D renderings, shopping for finish samples, doing board layouts and of course, seeing the final installed application!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
1. Meet to get a feel if we'd work well together
2. Develop concept boards for client approval
3. Conduct field measurements, draw plans and review together (if plans are needed)
4. Make any edits and gather samples
5. Review final design, show samples and finalize any remaining questions

For smaller projects, I operate on a flat fee. For larger scale projects, I work on an hourly rate.
How did you get started in this business?
I believe I was always intended to do interior design. After exploring various size firms and project emphasis, I decided I wanted to work more one-on-one with clients who are invested in their projects; projects that are personal to the user.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with high-end and rehab clients in a variety of project types: multi-family, hospitality, retail, commercial, senior living and residential.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
So many "designers" with their own firm are not professionally trained. Technically, they are merely decorators. Be sure to hire someone who has a degree. You are more likely have better, longer term, results.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Do you have an accredited degree in design? How long have you been working in the field? Do you have references? How is your billing set up? How many revisions are included? What if a finish is discontinued before ordering? What are typical lead times on finishes, furniture and appliances? Will I be working directly with you or someone on your team?
