What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once a consumer chooses River Town to be their provider or to provide them with a estimate. We meet with the home owner and go over their options and costs along with the consumers budget and try to blend in what they want into how it will fit inside their budget.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 22 years experience in this industry from maintaining properties to landscape builds ie: installing new flower beds, grading and preparing for sod, all the way up to buildings retaining walls!
We will walk each client through processs from the time we give them the quote to how we plan to begin and the steps all the way through until the property is completed.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
The way our pricing works is we determine the number of hours it will take to finish your project and then ad the materials into to that. There isn't anything sneaky about our price when you get it. The only way that price will change during the project if you would like to add or change a component. This is very simple you tell us what you want to change or materials change. We determine the price for this and give you the options in a change order so you can make a informed decision.
How did you get started in this business?
Growing up my family had a manufacturing business recycling truck tires to make, dock bumpers, wheel chicks, and mud flaps. Unfortunately China took all of this manufacturing over and as we were looking for a trade and that a gentlemen we know was looking to retire and we were able to purchase his business that involved landscape maintenance work, landscape installation work, irrigation work and erriosion control.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have worked with all types of customers from our minimal mowing charge of $40.00 all the way up to large office parks and large installation and irrigation projects. No project is to small for us to tackle.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
One our builders that we do work for hired a group of laborers to build a retaining wall for half the price that I had quoted to build it. The other company ran the builder ragged chasing supplies and materials for two days when they built the wall. 24 hours after paying for the wall it collapsed. We were requested to dig out the wall tear it apparat and rebuild the wall. Once the wall was prepped we installed the new wall along with the proper backing and installed bracing to keep the wall from ever moving. 3 months in and the wall is still holding well.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Do not hire the cheapest vendor thinking he will do a great job for you. Look at the guys that are insured and know what they are doing.
