  • Pete Townshend, THE WHO, quoted by Capt. J. Box

Since having the interior of S/Y GLORIA refit by Cheryl DiGennaro of Newport Yacht Interiors, myself and the owner of the vessel are very impressed with the standard of quality of the workmanship. I can highly recommend Cheryl for any work onboard in the future.

  • Rhonda C. Myers

Cheryl has a unique eye for design; she is innovative, creative and no detail escapes her. She finds the individual personality of each client so their yacht or home is not another cookie cutter design but a true reflection of the owners' identity and taste integrated with refreshing ideas that creates something personal and inviting. When working with us on inventory interiors, she has a flair for fabrics that appeal to many but include standout detail features to make them show stoppers. She is organized, responsive and her enthusiasm makes the design process an experience, not a project.

  • Joseph Paolino, Jr.

I have known and worked with Cheryl DiGennaro of Newport Yacht Interiors for many years. I have always known Cheryl to be professional, attentive to the wishes of her customer, hard working, knowledgable in her trade and delivers the highest quality of work. She is a hard working business owner with a strong entrepreneurial spirit that contributes to her success. Cheryl is the best in her field which is why I return to her for any work I need to have done onboard my yacht, Impossible Dream.

  • Ted Hood, Jr.

Cheryl DiGennaro has worked with many of my clients providing custom yacht interiors and has always brought a positive attitude, allowing her experience and sense of style to ensure the job was done tastefully, on time and to high standards. Cheryl is always a good choice to make a yacht really stand out."

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

We begin by ascertaining the client's vision for their project and the scope of work involved. We create an estimate based on our initial conversation and once the estimate is approved, we move forward by selecting fabrics, furnishings, paint colors etc. A presentation may be created, if preferred, and once approved, the items are ordered. Installation takes place once items have been received.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

BFA in Design from Massachusetts College of Art

16 years professional experience

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

We do have standard hourly rates for Design Consultations, as well as rates for fabrication, resourcing and travel. It will depend on the scope of the job.

How did you get started in this business?

I have always loved Interior Design, as my mother was a designer as well.  I have worked on many projects over the past 16 years and have participated in Designer Showcases.

What types of customers have you worked with?

We have worked with a wide variety of clientele. We work on projects as simple as selecting paint colors and accessories to refitting Superyachts of the rich and famous. Our pricing is highly competitive due to our in house craftsmen, fabric showroom and streamlined design process.

Describe a recent project you are fond of.

Newport Yacht and Home refit the upholstery and accessories onboard Pete Townshend's, guitarist for The Who, yacht while summering in Newport.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

Interview your prospects to make sure the design firm listens to your needs. If a designer takes the time to assess your lifestyle needs, aesthetic preferences and tastes, you can rest assured, you have found the right one.

What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?

Define your style, either through description or photos.

Estimate your budget. Are you looking for high quality and high style or do you have more simple needs.

Think about the time frame and discuss with your prospects.
