Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We begin by ascertaining the client's vision for their project and the scope of work involved. We create an estimate based on our initial conversation and once the estimate is approved, we move forward by selecting fabrics, furnishings, paint colors etc. A presentation may be created, if preferred, and once approved, the items are ordered. Installation takes place once items have been received.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
BFA in Design from Massachusetts College of Art
16 years professional experience
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We do have standard hourly rates for Design Consultations, as well as rates for fabrication, resourcing and travel. It will depend on the scope of the job.

I have always loved Interior Design, as my mother was a designer as well. I have worked on many projects over the past 16 years and have participated in Designer Showcases.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have worked with a wide variety of clientele. We work on projects as simple as selecting paint colors and accessories to refitting Superyachts of the rich and famous. Our pricing is highly competitive due to our in house craftsmen, fabric showroom and streamlined design process.
Describe a recent project you are fond of.
Newport Yacht and Home refit the upholstery and accessories onboard Pete Townshend's, guitarist for The Who, yacht while summering in Newport.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Interview your prospects to make sure the design firm listens to your needs. If a designer takes the time to assess your lifestyle needs, aesthetic preferences and tastes, you can rest assured, you have found the right one.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Define your style, either through description or photos.
Estimate your budget. Are you looking for high quality and high style or do you have more simple needs.
Think about the time frame and discuss with your prospects.
