Providing 40 years of experience as a certified professional dog trainer. In addition, I am an AKC certified STAR puppy, CGC and Trick Dog Evaluator and Trainer, and an AKC certified Temperament Test Evaluator. I am an expert in puppy socialization and training, basic skills and manners, problem solving, behavioral issues, reactive dogs, desensitization as well as competition training. Each puppy or dog is different so each needs an individual approach to training, not a one size fits all method.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I generally get as much initial information regarding situation by email, text or phone. I want to know what the major issues are and what the desired results should be. Rates are discussed, including travel times, etc and an appointment is made, whether I come to you or you come to me. At the first appointment, we further discuss what is going on and I do a thorough evaluation. After the evaluation and report we agree on course of action and get to work achieving those results.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Associate Degree in Canine Science as well as numerous certifications with professional dog training organizations.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Fees vary according to services. Standard puppy/manners training rates are different than behavioral modification training issues There is an additional charge for me to travel to client as opposed to coming to me, depending on distance All can be discussed at initial contact.
How did you get started in this business?
I started training dogs before 10 years old. First, my own dogs with conformation and obedience titling, puppy raising, then I began training for clients. Along the way, I've studied with the best and have become certified by numerous agencies, including the AKC.

You name it, I've done it! From puppy whelping and raising, puppy training, socialization, manners, problem solving, competition and performance training, therapy dog, service dog, desensitization training, reactive dogs, behavior modification.........
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I purchased a puppy as a show/performance prospect, only to discover the puppy not only lacked proper socialization, she was terrified of everything. Through socialization and desensitization, she became #1 obedience dog in the country.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Don't wait! Every puppy or dog should have basic training. If you see your puppy showing signs of a problem, get help immediately, before the situation becomes bad.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Having a dog is a joy! It is also work. Put the work in now and the future will be much easier and joyful.
