Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Explain the buying or selling process in detail so client is familiar and comfortable. We are full service and will be with you every step from time property is listed or buyer finds a home through settlement.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Originally licensed in 1989, we are always receiving training and are certified relocation experts, certified negotiation experts and are excellent communicators.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
With real estate, commissions are negotiable by law but generally we receive between 3 and 3-1/2% commission.
How did you get started in this business?
We love working with people and are really good problem solvers with a background in retail (Owned Wentz Hardware in Emmaus) so it seemed like a natural extension to become involved with real estate.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All types, people moving into the area from all over the country, first time home buyers, move up home buyers, sellers downsizing, investors, banks, sellers looking to buy a larger home, estates.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We just completed a transaction where we sold the home for the buyer which allowed he and his wife buy the home of their dreams. What made it special was our ability to have them approved to buy the home. They were denied previously before they came to us and we were able to get them qualified because of our extensive connections in the real estate industry.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Choose someone with experience and look beyond the commission amount if selling. Focus on the net amount received from a transaction. It is worth paying someone more if it gets you more money.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
When buying, what can they afford and what are they comfortable paying each month for a mortgage. What area do they want to live in. When selling, how soon must they sell, and do they need to sell existing home in order to buy another home?
