About

My name is Robin Carter and I own PAWZ-4-IT. I have been working with animals for over 25 years. I specialize in continuous 24/7 care for your pet. You can rest assured that your pet will never be left alone. We are a non-crate home, unless specifically asked by the client for their pet to be. PAWZ-4-IT offer custom enrichment activities specifically designed for your pet. Each pet has its own likes, dislikes, favorite toys, blanket, play time, ect; we design your pets activities based on what they like to do. We do our very best to offer the same kind of care as they receive at home. We care about your pet and we care about you.

I truly enjoy every moment of my business. My father always said that a job was something that you do to make money; But a career is that something special that you do that gives your life meaning. That's what PAWZ-4-IT is all about. Enjoying what I do and the knowledge knowing that each pet that I take care of is happy and healthy when they go home. I like to say that you are more than just a client, you are a friend. That is one of the reasons as to why we have succeeded in the Pet Care business.

Robin had such a wonderful, loving interaction with Bandit Kept me completely informed and sent me pictures throughout the weekend. When I went to pick Bandit up, Bandit was as calm as ever. I knew without a doubt that she was well cared for. (Bandit is quite old, a special needs dog and she took the upmost care with her.) She even thought of other options that would make it easier for Bandit to walk. I am thrilled to have found a babysitter that I can trust with our pet now and will not hesitate to call her in the future! Thank You, Robin for easing my nerves throughout the weekend too.

Robin took excellent care of my doggies, and kept me updated on their status every day while I was traveling. I highly recommend her!

    Frequently asked questions

Typically the new client and I would speak to each other 3 or 4 times before their scheduled stay. During those conversations I explain our policies and contracts. I answer any questions they might have. I explain how Paws-4-It, is different than anything else out there. I ask numerous questions regarding the pet. I also go over what they should pack for their pet.

I have a degree in an animal science and a degree in animal behavior. I have been training and working with animals, including exotics, for over 30 years.

I also am certified and accredited in:

CSAT - Canine Separation Anxiety Training

CDBC - Canine Dog Behavior Consultant

CBCC-KA - Certified Behavior Consultant for Canine knowledge based

    Professional Yorkshire Terrier Trainer.

    Hound Field Trial Champion Handler.

Pet Sitting and Pet Boarding ranges from $40 - $50 per day

    Pet Transport $1.50 per mile.

    Dog Training per hour $175+.

Dog training programs range from $1,500 - $3,500 depending on the program.

I started out showing Basenjis in the Show Ring when I was around 13. In my 20's, I started working with a group of breeders that had brought back full blood, new bloodlines, African Basenjis to the U.S and Europe. African Basenjis are not domesticated. (or at least not to our idea of domesticated) So I started training a few of the African Basenjis to run field trials. It just progressed from there. At some point about 10 years ago, I realized that the basic idea that all trainers used, was not my idea of training. So I started looking into why most people want their dogs trained. Behavior issues. One thing led to another, and now my training approach is a complete 180 from the majority of trainers, my results are higher, dogs are enjoying the training, and the pet parents are far more encouraged about the progress their dog is making.

We have worked with clients who have had a bad experience doing things the old way.

Clients that spoil their fur babies like children.

Clients that just want their pet to be happy, healthy, and loved while they are away.

Ask Questions! Ask Questions! Ask Questions!!!

Take the time to ask yourself "what is it that I really want?"

    When it comes to Boarding:

Do you want your pet just thrown into a crate and have little to no human interaction until you return?

Or do you want your pet to be treated like a part of the family. Receive the exact care that they get from you?

    Training:

Do you want to take your dog to a trainer that forces the behavior on your pet? A trainer that uses a heavy hand?

Or a trainer who builds the training experience around your pet's  personality, how your dog actually learns?
