Karl Beatty helped us immensely with our first foster dog. Because of his expertise and wisdom we were able to help her find her forever home. He was the first one we contacted when we were asked to foster another dog with significant issues. Working with him helped us to help some dogs that deserve the best care, and he has helped us be better dog parents.

    Frequently asked questions

When initially contacted by a potential client, whether by phone, text, email or messenger, I provide a link to pricing & to a client & dog profile form. Once the client completes the intake form, I then make an appointment for an in home consult once all vaccines are verified. During the in home consult, I discuss & observe the dog's behavioral issues. At the conclusion of the 1 hr appointment,  I provide a detailed recap, possible training plan & estimate of the costs involved. If the client decides to move forward with training, then we put the first official training on the schedule.

A seasoned communicator & teacher, I have added the title of Certified Professional Dog Trainer; Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) to verify my expertise & build trust with my clientele. This certification is provided by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers & verified by 3rd party testing, signed off on by a trusted veterinarian & only eligible to those with documented & verified 300+ hours of hands on training experience. Dog training is an unregulated industry & requires no certifications or licensure in the USA; anyone can be a "professional dog trainer", but only certified professionals have taken the time & effort to prove it through testing.

All in home consults / dog evaluations are $100 & if training is purchased this all or part of this fee is refunded as part of the training.

All private classes are priced at $100/training hour.

All preparation, mileage, travel is included in this cost.

Final cost of training is provided following the evaluation & is subject to the differences of each custom training plan.

After being successful training my own dogs, people began to ask me for help. I then began to research & pursue education & training programs to prepare for certification & begin accepting clients.

I work only with dogs that are considered family pets, avoiding, service & protection dogs; and seek to help families & their furry family members. To date I have worked with reactive dogs, fearful dogs, dogs with potty trouble, and rescue dogs of all breeds & sizes.

A client recently remarked that they could not get their dog (a Yorkshire Terrier) to calm down when playing. They pup would get over excited & become obsessed...this had been going on for years, but in just a few minutes of working with the dog we were able to successfully get the dog to settle & play nicely, without obsession. We were all please at the dog's change in behavior in just a few minutes time.

I recommend that every dog owner should start training & socializing their dogs very early...as soon as the dog joins the home & before frustration & problem behaviors set in. Teaching expectations BEFORE problems set in is easier than breaking bad habits & creating good habits. That being said, dog owners should look for trainers with a proven track record of success with dogs & people. Ask your trainer for feedback from previous clients. Be sure that you agree with all training methodology that the trainer will use...some trainers use pain & compulsion. Ask what techniques the trainer will use before you agree to have them train your family members!
