Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
This process varies by scope of work. First step is initial consultation to meet potentially client, see the scope of work. Second step is a design proposal that will break down the estimated cost and level of detail needed for the scale of project. Once JLDG is fully engaged in the design process we will set forth a time line that has deadlines to meet the project timeline.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 15 years of industry experience. I started my career in Los Angeles where I studied as well as freelanced for a variety of Interior Designers. I moved back to Cleveland Ohio 8 years ago, and worked for a prostegious firm in town as their Interior Architectural Designer for 7 years prior to starting my own firm in 2018.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
All projects vary in size and needs so their is no standards. I do have hourly rates that will be provided within the agreement between client and JLDG.
How did you get started in this business?
With 15 years of experience, starting my own firm was just the next obvious step for me. I built a reputation that made it possible to transition into a business.
What types of customers have you worked with?
My clients range from all incomes and status. I have worked on homes that cost $400,000 and I have worked on homes that cost $30,000,000. I have also worked on overseas projects from Royal Palaces, to the Charlie Hotel in Columbia. While high end custom design is our specialty, we believe everybody deserves to have a space that brings joy to their life. No project is too small!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Interior Design is a very persoanlaized experience, make sure you hire the designer that gets you and your style the most. I personally can capture any style, but I have a straight forward honest approach. I am not a sales person at heart, I am a designer. So everything I lead you toward is for the best option design wise and price point for the budget.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
It is always ideal to have a start to your vision. You can provide 1 photo that you really like the feel of and that will get you a starting point for discussion. Browsing houzz and saving images that appeal to you is always fun homework and very useful.
