Experience, behavior counciling, understanding the needs of my clients and the dogs I work for. I am a member of the APDT (Association of Professional Dog Trainers). I am an Evaluator with the AKC (American Kennel Club) therefore I can perform the CGC (Canine Good Citizen) test. I am a Mentor for ABC (Animal Behavior College) therefore I work with students so they have access to my knowledge and experience. I have attended many seminars over the years. I have been around animals my entire life. Dog Training is my absolute passion. Explain to my clients how and why their dog does or does not follow instruction. I have a Facebook Page. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When the potential client has undesirable behavior from their dog.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Years of attending seminars with some of the most recognizable Trainers and Behaviorists in the field. Years of experience.
How did you get started in this business?
Met a 30 year Veteran Trainer and he brought me in as a student. I worked with him for six months. I have attended Training/Behavior seminars since then.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Really all kind. The ones that stand out are the hearing impaired family. The aggressive Pit Bull. These are the ones that I will never forget.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I worked with a Collie Mix who would jump, Nip, Steal Items in the house. We made real progress.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Really listen to how they explain. Check references. Experience/Knowledge is very important.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
How does the professional handle situations.
