I am a highly trained dog groomer. I have worked with dogs sence I was 8 yrs old. I have been in the animal care feild for over 15 yrs. I helpped train & prepare dogs for showing. I also have worked at the barkley pet hotel in doggy day camp and the grooming salon. I currently work at petsmart as a dog groomer. Every bread is diffrent along with every individual dog is diffrent. I pride myself on true care for fur friends and catering to their needs. I also have my cos liscence so I am very creative and love to see the pets just as happy as people are when they leave the salon feeling fresh and beautiful! I am patient & know how to work with difficult pets and work towards goals with them. I also work around the comfort of my pet clients, if they have a hard time standing or balance, blind or deaf or any other health or behaivor issues. I am more then willing to help make them feel as comfortable as possible for there grooming services. My passion is with animals and always will be. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When working with new pet customers i always do a consultation. I ask basic questions like are they on any sedations today? Are they on a flea & tick preventative? Are there any health or behaiver issues? Along with the goals of the owners desired look for their pets. I look over the pet to see if the ears are healthy, eyes, skin & coat. I then would give my professional oppinion on what would be best for that individual pet.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been trained for 15 years working with all kinds of breeds of dogs. I showed dogs before. I have worked at a doggy day camp with 80 dogs and can maintane alpha leadership. I have a true respect for animals and know rhe signs to look for. I also have been a dog bather for 3 years bathing 30 dogs a day. I have been a groominh salon manager. A animal cate shift auperviser. I have despensed medication to pets that need it. I am very observent and know when a pet is not acting normal. I also have been grooming for 3 years as well. I have worked with diffrent breads and know the standard cuts for each breed. I love what I do and would love to consult with you about youre pet and set goals and achieve them for you!

How did you get started in this business?
I got started in this business at a very young age. I knew this was something id love to do. I worked at a privet personal show dog kennel. I worked with welsh corgis, whippets, jackrussels & dobbermans. I have always admired poodles and the grooms they had. In the last 5 yrs I worked at a 5 start pet resort. I worked hands on with many returning clients. I went from being a bather to becoming a grooming with in a year. I have been doing dogs nails & pawpads and sanitary trims for 15yrs and groominh for 3 yrs.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with many fur clients. I have worked with pawfect fur babies and difficult nervouse furbabies. I have worked with deaf & blind pets. I have worked with pets with health issues. I have worked with younf puppies. It is all about being patient and communicating with them. I always encourage my pey clients and praise them. I have worked with dogs that are completly matted and irritable and uncomfortable. I have worked with happy peeiers. I have worked with extremly shy pets.i have worked with upset pets. I have worked with over hundreds of dogs and Im very confident with the handleing I do. I also beleive in the animals comfort and would never make a pet feel uncomfortable. I have alot of diffrent method and techniques to use but if the pet doesnt want to comply I will have to request a vet or goals to work toqarda or pet parent homework.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Watch how they handle youre pet and see if they teuely care about youre pet and youre desired out come.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Have you been brushing youre dogs coat and is it matted anywhere? Does youre pet have any infections in the ears or uti? Is youre pets spayed or neutered? Is there any health or behaivor issues? Does youre dog allow shears or clipper work to be done. Does youre dog allow blow dryinh to be done? Does youre pet allow nails to be trimmed? Is youre pet owner pertective? Is youre pet dog or cat agressive?
