What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I introduce myself to the pet owner and talk about what cut they would like to see their pet with. Bringing a photo will also help to ensure you get the cut you would like. If you're unsure about what you want we will discuss you and your pet's lifestyle such as how often you're able or want to brush your pet, if you like taking your pet places where things outside can get stuck in the fur, or overall comfort of your pet. From there, we can find the right groom for your pet! I will also assess your pet and look for any matting, fear, or aggression.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have grown up with showdogs and got my first job in a veterinary grooming salon at 18 years old as a bather/brusher. The groomers I worked with taught me how to groom and from there I practiced every day, read books and watched videos. I then started grooming at petco and stayed there for five years. I left to groom at another veterinary hospital where I am currently and have been for the past four years.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.

Prices are based on breed, condition of coat, and behavior of pet.

How did you get started in this business?

Animals have always had a huge place in my heart and life. I've shown horses, alpacas, raised angora rabbits, and grew up with many dogs and other animals. My first real job was working with animals and that has never changed. I love what I do and making a difference in the lives of both animals and their owners.

What types of customers have you worked with?

All types.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Many times I have seen my customers cry tears of happiness after they see their pet groomed and cleaned up. One time in particular was a heavily matted dog who's owner ran into hard times and couldn't get a groom for quite some time. She didn't have an appointment, but I fit her in and when I gave her "brand new" dog back to her she couldn't hold back the tears. She hugged me and thanked me. Those are the moments I always remember.
