We had an excellent experience with Jeff, the owner of WMK-9. This was the second time he trained our dog, Bentley, we needed help with excessive barking and command recall. Jeff did an outstanding job — he completely resolved the issues and gave us the tools and confidence to continue reinforcing the training at home.
Jeff is knowledgeable, professional, and truly understands dogs and their behavior. Bentley came back calmer, more responsive, and we feel more confident to take Bentley out in public.
I would highly recommend WMK-9 for both dog training and boarding. We are extremely happy with the results and will absolutely continue using Jeff in the future.

Jeff and his team are absolutely fantastic! Our 1 year old rescue went through the 14 day program and learned so much. We can’t thank WMK9 enough for their teachings and immense amount of support!

We can’t say enough great things about Jeff and the incredible work he did with our dog, Arlo. We left Arlo with him for three weeks for aggressive/reactive boarding and training, and the difference is honestly amazing.
Before training, walks were extremely stressful — Arlo pulled constantly, reacted to anyone near our street, and could be very difficult to handle. He would jump up, get mouthy, and generally felt unpredictable in certain situations.
When we picked him up, he felt like a completely different dog. Walks are now enjoyable instead of exhausting. He walks calmly without the constant pulling, stays much more focused, and no longer goes crazy when people pass by our house or on walks. The jumping and biting behavior has also improved tremendously.
Jeff clearly knows what he’s doing and genuinely cares about the dogs he works with. He was patient, knowledgeable, and gave us guidance so we could continue reinforcing the training at home.
The transformation we saw in just three weeks with Arlo was incredible. If you’re dealing with a reactive or difficult dog and feel overwhelmed, we highly recommend Jeff.

I’ve never been a great dog trainer, but had been fairly lucky that my previous dogs had been easy. Then came Charlie, a sweet lab, but a monster for a bad dog trainer to train. At my wits end, I had to go out of town so was looking for a boarder and decided that maybe I could get a professional to train him as well as boarding. I searched web and Facebook reviews and came across WMK9-Well Mannered K9. I contacted Jeff who promptly reached out to me and after talking with him about Charlie and my challenges and what I was hoping for, I decided to go for the 4 week training. After dropping him off, Jeff sent pictures and videos nearly every day. I was instantly amazed by what I saw Jeff and his team doing. I was seeing videos of Charlie sitting and laying down patiently while surrounded by other dogs a cat and the team being distractions….and he was still obeying the “place” and other commands. He was out at public establishments and he was not driving all the other patrons nuts. When Jeff came to bring Charlie back to me at the end for an at home training, Jeff explained everything he was working on, and why, and how I should continue going forward. I walked around with Charlie on a slack leash without him pulling or jumping up at me. Jeff and the WMK9-Well Mannered K9 team truly did an amazing job. Jeff reiterated that I could always contact him with questions. I’m confident that as I continue to keep training Charlie with what Jeff has taught me, that he is going to be my best trained dog I’ve ever had.

Our encounter with this dog training facility was fantastic. You can tell they genuinely care and love what they do. They are informed and patient and it really helped us because Jeff took the time to explain not only how to do it but also why it works. We got updates with photos are videos frequently, which made us feel at ease (we did the board and train). We have already noticed such a big difference in his behavior, confidence, reactivity, leash pulling, etc) We honestly couldn’t be happier.

I can’t say enough great things about WMK9. Jeff was incredible with my overanxious, back-talking, ill-mannered boy, Todd. He came home a completely different dog—calm, well-mannered, and genuinely happy. Just as important, Jeff gave me the tools and training I needed to continue Todd’s progress and reinforce his good behavior. He truly showed me that an old dog can learn new tricks. Knowing I have lifetime support and guidance from Jeff moving forward means the world to me. Thank you, WMK9!

WMK9 was born out of hands-on work with nonprofit organizations and shelter dogs, where Jeff discovered a natural ability to communicate with dogs others struggled to reach. A respected trainer with decades of experience recognized that ability and mentored Jeff, helping shape the practical, results-driven training philosophy WMK9 is known for today.
WMK9 works with a wide range of dog owners—from first-time puppy owners to experienced handlers. We regularly help families, working professionals, seniors, and multi-dog households, as well as clients dealing with leash pulling, reactivity, anxiety, aggression, and general obedience challenges. Many clients come to WMK9 feeling overwhelmed or frustrated, and are looking for clear structure, reliable results, and long-term support.
A recent event we’re especially fond of involved a dog who came to WMK9 as a last resort due to aggression in the household and toward new people. By the end of training, he was calm, relaxed, and able to safely coexist with his family and visitors. Watching that transformation—and knowing it gave the dog another chance in his home—was incredibly meaningful.
Look for a trainer who emphasizes structure, consistency, and owner education—not quick fixes. Read reviews to see real client experiences, especially with dogs similar to yours. A quality trainer will be transparent about their methods, prioritize safety, set realistic expectations, and provide guidance so progress continues long after training ends.
Customers should think about their dog’s specific behaviors, when and where the issues occur, and what success would look like in daily life. It’s also helpful to consider their schedule, consistency at home, and long-term goals. Knowing whether they want basic obedience, behavior modification, or long-term support helps a trainer recommend the right approach.
