Our Strict House Limit (10 Dogs Maximum) Makes Every Dog Feel Like Royalty!

The ‘Bed & Breakfast’ residential regular dog boarding service of Best Friends Canine Services is for social, non-hostile dogs. Dogs exercise, live, play, eat and nap in the private home of Melanie Blair, Dog Behaviorist, Trainer & Canine Care Specialist.

Dogs and puppies who board at Melanie’s house get plenty of attention, adequate exercise (based on their specific energy level and physical allowance or capability) playtime, structure, rules, affection and socializing. Lodgers who have special needs, use carts, wear diapers, are diabetic, have geriatric issues, are handicapped, blind, deaf and/or who have non-contagious health conditions, special food restrictions, activity limits, etc., are lovingly, knowledgeably and meticulously cared for by Melanie according to their special needs. There is an extra daily charge for special needs care depending on the extent of the extra care that may be required. Reproductively intact males, females and females in season are welcome too. Females in season will incur extra daily care charge in addition to regular boarding cost.

All dogs and puppies boarding at Melanie’s house with her own balanced dogs, eat, sleep, exercise, play, nap, socialize and lounge in a 100% residential environment. They play together in a spacious, fenced in exercise and play yard that borders a scenic tree line and farmer’s field. They are furnished with their own cozy 'bunk cages’ which are set up right in the central family room area of the house and not in some lonely back bedroom somewhere. Once canine lodgers are acclimated into the pack, their bunk cages are left open so they can free roam throughout the home and they are only closed into them to sleep at night and when Melanie leaves the house to grab a meal, run an errand, etc. In short, Melanie treats every dog as if they were going to be a permanent member of her household. Her boarding limit is 10 dogs total. She personally owns 5 so that means 5 client dogs max can board at any given time. This assures that every lodger feels very special.

Bunk cages are kept clean, sanitary and are furnished with comforters unless your pooch prefers the cool plastic cage floor as some dogs do. They are regularly sanitized and cleansed with hypoallergenic baby wash combined with water every other day or more often during muddy season. Comforters are changed every 2 days or replaced immediately if they get soiled, damp, muddied or moistened.
