    Frequently asked questions

First stage: A complimentary 30 minute phone consulation to assess the scope of your project, you can ask any questions you like about what is industry practices, and how pricing usually looks. I verbally explain my process in more depth. You can tell me about what your future goals are with your home, and living situation that needs to be taken into consideration, etc etc etc.

Second stage: An in home consultation with a flat fee, so we don't ever feel rushed or that the clock is ticking. This stage of things it very important that we do not rush things, so we both can get to know one another, and build a trusting report together. This meeting typically goes for 1-3 hours depending on the project and client. During this meeting we review what you like, what you don't like, any idea-books you may have, and begin coming up with a solid game plan for me to design from. Before we meet I send you an email that puts in writing a more clear road map of what to expect, with a copy of my contract so you can take your time to review ahead of time to ask any necessary questions.

Third Stage: Contract singing and initial payment to begin design process.

    Fourth Stage: Design Process

    Fifth Stage: Remodeling/Installation

Sixth Stage: Final walk through/Review to see if anything is outstanding

I have a degree in Interior Design from SAGE Colege of Albany. Graduated with Honors with a GPA of 4.8

Lighting Certificate from American Lighting Association.

I grew up around the my Grandfather who built, and renovated homes. I have memories of when I was 11 years old hammering nails into the framing of one of the houses they built. Funny enough, it took me a while to come to the idea that interior design was an option! It encompasses all of the things I love: Psychology, science, math, is multifaceted, and of course incredibly creative. Obviously, it took off from there!
I work with all kinds of clients from all different belief systems, and tastes. It's part of what keeps me on my toes, and keeps things interesting is that each space is tailored to my clients specifically.
Make sure they have the specific experience you are looking for on your job. There is a difference between an interior decorator and an interior designer. Interior decorators and designer are like doctors that many times specialize in specific things. For example, I specialize in large scale remodels. I love delving in the structural elements of the home, rearranging spaces, but if you are looking for someone to get into the nitty gritty of small accessories, that person likely isn't me.
