the tuner came on time, explained the task and tuned the piano within one hour. He did a good job. Next time i will request him again.

Is there a category higher than Excellent? Thats what Michael deserves. He spent many hours carefully getting an old Spinet to sound and play like new again. That is dedication to the craft. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Michael was very professional. He warned me about possible problems before his visit, and when he came he told me my piano was fine and didn’t need much but tuning. He fixed two sticky keys for free, said there was nothing complicated and my piano sound was amazing! Affordable and easy, definitely recommend!

    Frequently asked questions

Decide a good time, come see the piano, and discuss everything important before starting. I am always honest and reasonable about my work, and do my best to make sure customers get the best possible outcome!

I was taught(and still am often) by very talented tuners and technicians, whom I still ask for advice every time I’m not sure of something. But main part is of course practice, so I do it a lot and get better every time.

I charge just $90 for regular tuning if the piano is in the right pitch and does not need any serious returns. Pitch raise is usually $150 unless the piano is very flat. Some repairs I do for free, but as they get more complicated pricing starts with $50 and goes up depending on what piano needs. Maintenance starts with $100 and also goes up modestly depending on a situation.

I’ve started selling pianos about a year ago. As I got more into it, I’ve discovered I like pianos very much, and want to know more about them. So my curiosity led me to become a piano technician, and a tuner afterwards.

I’ve worked with many people but I’d love to work with so much more! I’m mainly looking for experience and an opportunity to do more of what I like so much.

I recently came across an old Ukraine piano, and it was in the worst condition. From working on tuning pins, to making sure every single jack and flange function good, it took me almost an entire day to finish. Came out beautiful!

It’s a good idea to see if all keys work, if any strings are missing and if anything seems or sounds especially wrong. It’s important because it can help a technician provide a fair evaluation as well as be most prepared. For example, if a piano is a spinet, and customer does not mention it, sometimes it would help to be prepared to complete a job of a higher complexity
