About
David Kulick of Zone6 Design works with architects, interior designers and private individuals to create beautiful gardens and interior spaces filled with plant life. Whether the project involves transforming a NYC roof terrace, installing stunning pool plantings for a country retreat, or creating a green office environment, the result will be a unique and sustainable work of art.
Formerly a dance artist with the companies of Merce Cunningham, Martha Graham and Mikhail Baryshnikov, David embarked on a career in landscape design after being inspired by visits and study of gardens and natural landscapes all over the wold while touring and performing on 6 continents.
Following his formal training at the New York Botanical Garden's School of Professional Horticulture, he formed his landscape design studio in 2005
Since then David has collaborated with architects and companies including IMG, Ford Models, Anchorage Capital, Proenza Schouler, Clodagh, Sanba, WXY, Ennead, Morris Adjmi and David Adjaye, among others. His event work has been featured by DIFFA, and his horticultural gifts are sought out by some of the biggest names in fashion and entertainment.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Its always helpful to see a photo of the space via email as soon as possible, followed up by a telephone conversation.
For projects requiring a design concept and plan, we will meet with the client to discuss their wishes for the space and discuss how the space will be used. We will then send some inspiration photos to make sure we are all working towards the same goal. Then we will present an itemized design proposal based on an hourly design rate. Upon approval and deposit, we will produce a complete design plan that can be implemented by us or the company of your choice.
We also provide ongoing maintenance and development of already existing urban gardens; rooftops, terraces, courtryards, foundation plantings, etc. We work with a wide range of private residential and corporate clients. We can review your space and provide an itemized proposal for maintenance services at an hourly rate based on your specific needs.

We have a standard hourly fee for design services as well as a specific hourly fee for maintenance services.
