About

A graduate of both Moscow Architectural Institute (1990) and Moore College of Art and Design (1997), Victoria has over 20 years of experience as a design manager and project manager at Bower, Lewis and Thrower, KR+H Cabinetmakers, NELSON, and IA Interior Architects. Her responsibilities at these firms included leading and managing high-end corporate and residential projects of various sizes, creating design concepts, and overseeing construction.

Victoria's experience as a Project Manager and Designer at IA Interior Architects prepared her to work directly with clients in creating efficient, design conscious spaces that optimally satisfied the aesthetic and budgetary requirements of her clients.

Now, as the founder and lead designer at Sense of Space, Victoria is putting her years of experience and exemplary design skills to work for you and your home.

Sense of Space was founded in 2005 with the goal of providing unique architecture and interior design services based on the client's vision of the space and their emotional unity with the environment.

I strive to make every project unique and fitting with the clients' vision, style and budget. I work tirelessly to make sure everyone gets their dream home for many years to come.

Victoria managed a construction project at our home and did a fine job in acting as liaison with the contractor. She made sure details were followed up on and the project was brought to a successful completion. We would recommend Victoria as go-between for owner and contractor for any large scale construction project at a private residence.

In our first project, Victoria was our eyes and ears on the ground, supervising an apartment renovation and orchestrating three teams of service contractors (painting, electrical, demolition). She seems to have Patton-esque qualities that made the contractors think twice, and aim to outperform one another. On our second project, she immediately understood my taste when I said not shiny, bringing two terrific schemas for a bathroom renovation - each of them so compelling it was difficult to make a choice ... until she talked us through the vision. She is a gem

Victoria, worked with us to create a floor plan and design that we love and enjoy every day. We get rave reviews form our friends and neighbors who have seen it for the first time.

Victoria gave us top to bottom advice during our ten month home renovation. She understood every aspect of the job and was instrumental in designing and coordinating the job. She is a very creative thinker and combines that gift with an unwavering attention to detail. I can highly recommend her.

    Frequently asked questions

First, I establish the client's style through pictures they've compiled and their description of what they'd like their new space to look and feel like.  I then walk them through a possible timeline – phases, processes, etc.  We then establish an approximate budget for the project.  During this process, I advise my clients on whether their expectations are right on point or if they need to undergo some tweaking and adjustments, be it in the length of the project or the budget.

Once the client has agreed to my fees, I provide a set of initial sketches to best illustrate my vision for the space/s and we get rolling!

I'm a graduate of Moscow School of Architecture and Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia.

I charge $100 per hour, and my project fees are based on that number.  I estimate an approximate number of hours I anticipate spending on the project and arrive at a number.

My initial 2-hour consultation is $180.  During this consultation the client can decide whether they want to keep working with me.  This consultation is non-binding, and the clients get to ask me specific questions related both to their project and my work style.

I've been doing commercial interior design for many years, until I've decided that I wanted to switch to the residential side, which I view as more rewarding emotionally.  I still do commercial projects here and there, but private homes are my passion!

I've worked with Boards of Directors of major corporations, small business owners, wealthy homeowners and those of moderate means.  I've had experience with decisive people and those who need a lot of guidance and encouragement.  My goal is to find a way to work with anyone who needs my help on their project.

The best advice I can give is to be open and to trust whoever you hire, while clearly expressing your needs and desires.  Feedback from both ends is essential in achieving optimal results.
