Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
During the first session, I ask for the customer's goals and work on an issue of concern. Depending on what we feel is the best route, we agree on a training program.
Puppy Board & Train: The board & train program includes a first meeting, the initial session, where we assess and begin training. We go over your goals for you and your dog and we make a plan to create the results you want, set a date for drop off. Half payment is due at the first session and the remainder due at drop off. I provide daily text/video updates when training, so you’ll see what we are working on and the progress we are making. If you prefer, we can also Facetime (or another video call service) so you can see the training in real time. At pick up, we’ll go over what we have worked on and will meet again the following week.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I’ve successfully completed Training Cesar's Way- Fundamentals of Dog Training and Behavior 1 at the Dog Psychology Center. The program was headed by world renowned dog behaviorist, Cesar Millan (aka the Dog Whisperer). I've also had the opportunity to shadow two dog trainers in NYC and Denver and have taken a dog psychology course. Running a dog rescue has helped me in learning the interactions between dogs and how to resolve issues. I am a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP).
Fearful/Feral Dog Workshop at the Animal Welfare Coalition of Northeastern New Mexico led by dog behaviorist Nelson Hodges
Dog's Drives Workshop at BlackPaw training facility, Colorado led by dog behaviorist Brian Agnew

Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
How did you get started in this business?
I started walking dogs years ago in NYC then moved to Denver where I ran a dog rescue while still walking dogs. I've struggled with my German Shepherd's anxiety that resulted in leash reactivity and bites to people and dogs. After seeking help from a trainer and working on myself, I was able to work with my dog and learned tremendously over the years by working with dogs and shadowing dog trainers in Denver and NYC.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with a variety of customers who needed help with puppy training, basic obedience and behavior modification.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
My advice would be to visit the provider's website to see what they do, view videos of their work and ask questions.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Questions customers should think through are the goals they'd like to achieve with their dog.
